hi all.

another strange thread which has been niggling at me for years as i know im not weird.

i am right handed and when i eat my dinner i have the fork in my right hand.

i personally think this is normal as im right handed but most people say im weird ?

can we have a poll please if a mod could do one.

2.fork in left hand and im right handed.
3.fork in left hand and im left handed.
4.fork in right hand and im left handed.
5.i dont use a fork cause im a heathen.

I'm right handed. If fork only I'm using my right hand. If I'm using knife and fork I do it German style with fork in left hand, knife in right, and don't set utensils down between bites like most Americans do.

Heading briefly back on topic: do you mean that you hold the fork in your right hand when using only a fork (which is the usual way for right-handers) or do you mean holding the fork in the right and a knife in left (which is the left-handed way)?

Anyway, no-one is completely left-handed or completely right-handed.

See, that just sounds wrong if you're right handed.
Surely you need more control over the knife to cut things? I would have thought this would be easier with your dominant hand.
The fork is then only used to hold the food you're cutting and transfer it to your mouth.

If eating something that just requires a fork, e.g. a plate of egg fried rice then using the fork in your right hand makes sense.

im fine in the way i use my knife and fork in my hands and never have a problem.

even when i only use my fork ill still use it in my right hand.
