It wasn't particularly high impact, but it smashed the front, but worst still damaged the rear quite badly, so could be damage to all that fancy diffuser stuff, but apparently they have spares I think. Chandhok was saying there could be gearbox damage though which is the worst bit.

I'm at work so can't watch, how bad was hamiltons crash? Will it get fixed in time for fp2?

Are mclaren running the new diffuser also?

Hamilton said it was quite severe on the radio, but it didn't look all that bad on the replay (He goes head on into the tire wall, but the car manages to spin around and damage some of the rear too). The car was damaged on 3 sides since it spun into the tire wall, probably did a little damage to their new diffuser, but it was hard to tell.

If the back end of the Mclaren is damaged I'd be asking Lewis just how the Marshalls and recovery guys handled his car when moving it off the track..

That Green John Deere tractor looked like the car was banging ( the back of his car into the front of the tractor) whilst they were trying to manoever it around,

Really? So making the right call on tyres at the right time (twice) is luck is it?

The first was complete 100% luck. He only came in because he'd destroyed his tyres and been humiliatingly passed by his teammate. He only took the gamble on his tyres because he'd shot the race otherwise.

The second time I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. It was a good call but, again, he was lucky in how well it came off.

Still can't see him lucking into a win like that a third time this season.

5Live commentary just gets better and better, it's fantastic just with David Croft and Anthony Davidson but with Chandhok as well in a 3 way commentary it's an F1 enthusiasts heaven.
