Obviously, but UEFA are too concerned with the political mess that is the voting for presidency. By 'offering' more smaller nations entry to the CL proper by removing their champions from the quali process, more of them get entry at the expense of better teams (and thus making the CL weaker in the process).
And its all done to guarentee Platini enough votes to remain in charge come the next election.

I don't mind it so much, I mean there is some merit to actually having champions in the champions league.

My reaction was more out of surprise than annoyance.

Anyone else notice they made a huge mistake in the draw? or am i imagining things?

They said Palmero cannot be drawn in Liverpool's group because of TV clashing between clubs from the same country (sampdoria) in the same 'tv block'.
And then they go and draw an Italian club in the next pot?

Edited first post.

1248: I won't lie, poor ol' Diego Forlan is having a 'mare, struggling to open the balls, spilling them all over the place. They'll take back his plaque at this rate.

Haha :D :D

City and Liverpool both have relatively easy groups to be honest. A part from Juve for Man City but I'm sure they will be fine against them.

Given that all of the groups matter equally, irrespective of the likes of people on this forum, here's the full draw:

Group A: Juventus, Manchester City, Salzburg, Lech Posnan
Group B: Atletico Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen, Rosenborg, Thessaloniki
Group C: Sporting, Lille, Levski Sofia, Gent
Group D: Villarreal, Club Brugge, Dinamo Zagreb, PAOK
Group E: AZ Alkmaar, Dynamo Kiev, BATE Borisov, FC Sheriff
Group F: CSKA Moscow, Palermo, Sparta Prague, Lausanne-Sport
Group G: Zenit St Peterburg, Anderlecht, AEK Athens, Hadjuk Split
Group I: PSV Eindhoven, Sampdoria, FC Metalist Kharkiv, Debreceni
Group J: Sevilla, Paris St Germain, Borussia Dortmund, Karpaty Lviv
Group K: Liverpool, Steaua Bucharest, Napoli, FC Utretcht
Group L: FC Porto, Besiktas, CSKA Sofia, Rapid Vienna
Group H: VfB Stuttgart, Getafe, Odense BK, Young Boys

Italian teams did poorly in this draw too. Still, if we actually want to get back into top three co-efficients we have to go out there and consistently beat the best teams.
