Slow iPhone 3G with IOS 4? turn off spotlight

Slight bump, I've decided to revert my 3G back to 3.0.1 (well, currently in the process of trying to!) as I'm getting far to agitated/stressed/annoyed with the constant freezing and taking half a minute to send a text!

Update too 4.1 my 3g is a lot better now

Yeh, I've resulted in doing this and completely wiping it, so far so good!

Is the 4.1 update available for the masses yet? Despite my best efforts, the 3G I updated is still laggy.

Updating to 4.1 now... this had better make my 3G useable again.
