I posted a couple of weeks ago, but I've had a fairly major rethink since then, so thought I would start a new thread. Basically, how does this look. The machine will be mainly used for work (including some programming and simulation work, hence the need for something fast). Gaming is a (very) secondary concern.

Things I don't want to change are the case (I've used them before and like them a lot), having two hard drives rather than one, and the price. Any other tweak suggestions would come in handy.

p.s. Is the memory I have chosen ok for the motherboard? I see that it isn't on the list of "supported memory" provided by ASUS. Would I be better off going for:

its good.

how about a sdd and a 1tb storage drive.

the ram is fine, and will work.

also, how about changing the 5750 for a GTX460 that's on special offer, incase any apps you use will take advantage of CUDA.

I'm avoiding ssd for now (too expensive to get one that will be big enough for all my applications, and I don't want to have to think about installing certain applications on one disk and others on another).

In terms of the graphics card, do you mean this:

that's the one, the CUDA support may be useful to you.
