As for my setup.

Fanatec Wheel:
SENS 180 (I like 'quick' steering, you need to be able to 'chuck' the cars to full lock quickly for some corners)
FF 50 (Not too much, you don't want to be fighting the wheel! )
SHO 60 (Again turned down from max, don't want to over do it!)
DRI OFF
ABS 040 (Mines set low, I like really light brake pressure)
Lin 000 (Since I use in-game settings)
DEA 010 (A tiny amount of deadzone as I set in-game to zero)

Game Settings
The 3 FFB settings are (Note the strength is 50, this is to reduce the wheel fighting me turning in etc)

Steering Deadzone 0
Steering Saturation 100
Steering Linearity 30 (Makes it turn quicker off centre, default is too slow IMO)
Throttle Deadzone 0
Throttle Saturation 100
Brake Deadzone 0
Brake Saturation 50 (I like low brake pressure, the Clubsport pressure sensor seems very stiff on mine).

I invested.in a ms wireless wheel today so we will see how my times compare with the pad. For reference I managed to shave 3 seconds off my Bahrain PB and I never had as many invalidated laps

after 1 1/2 hrs i got

4. crappy logitech wireless/ Auto, ABS ON, TC FULL, Racing line on corners

stupid verge made me spin sooo many times. Time above i didnt do perfect.

I would advise ppl to steer clear of this wheel! you have to tie it to yourself or a table to stop it moving and the handling isnt heavy/sensitive enough.


The bad news is my braking must suck coz i did 1.50.676 with braking assists i should be faster without em!!! gahh

Looking at the times it seems many of how have now nicely dialed in custom settings.

How do you think the game now feels after getting more used to it and being able to pump in good laps lads?

I've found that the second default setup from the right works pretty well for me, is anyone having any joy with custom setups?

My wheel settings are as follows

All FB options set to 100%
0% deadzone for thottle and braking.

Wheel does make a difference particular in throttle and braking smoothness and mainly steering the driver no longer looks like hes having a fit.

Well whenever I go on TT the default is a setup for wet weather...doesn't seem right to me

Fantastic, I suck at it but quite frankly I'm having the time of my life warmlapping the worlds circuits in an F1 car for the first time in as long as I can remember on a console, it looks amazing, and it feels incredible too, every time I see that little white dot on the circuit map behind the big red one I get a buzz. Moreover I have a new found respect for the guys who do this for real, doing 60 + laps without missing a braking point - unbelievable.

I haven't raced a single ai or other human car yet, but I'm having a ball.

Thanks to those who participated and congrats to the winner!
Personally now starting to enjoy this myself and find it a shame I had so little time between Fri-Sun available.

Would be interested to continue at this to improve and share the setups of the best guys.
After these events thats a good way for everyone to have something useful for the single player game and future races.

Will update with final finishing times.

Im really looking forwards the challenge of Suzuka, im interested to know what setup alterations Demon and Dan7 made, for me i just used the 1 off top "Quick Set" and Fast Engine Map. I wouldnt really know where to start tweaking the suspension, balance, aero etc...

Managed to improve slightly on my time up from a 1:47.307 to 1:46.404, still having lots of trouble getting a clean lap though...

Has anyone noted down their sector times? Im pretty sure im failing horribly on the 2nd and 3rd sector so would be nice to see how i compare to others.

Sector 1 - 28.729 (can beat this by a few tenths but cant keep a clean lap)
Sector 2 - 1.08.200 (That triple chicane section and the 2 next turns kill me)
Sector 3 - 1.46.404 (I think im taking the turns too easy incase i spin)
