reilly - most keyboard can be cleaned up of any gunk you spill in them if you stick them in the dishwasher on a cool cycle and dry them in the airing cupboard for a few days.
The only risk is if you power it on while wet as that will dammage it sometimes. Some times you are lucky though. I had a glass of OJ knocked into my keyboard when it was a couple of days old. It stopped working there and then (wet was making bad contacts), but a good clean in the dishwasher and it was good as new.
