We've got a really crunchy deal for you on these LiteOn slimline/notebook drives which play Blu-ray and read/write to DVD and CDs. Our competitors charge around £80 for a drive of this specification and we only have a limited amount of stock available so get involved while stocks last. :)

£30 yeah, its pricy. 2nd hand ones are £44 from auction site from hong kong, might go that route. Already got a 2x BC-5500S but it has HP firmware on it so won't flash with official sony firmware which enables 4x :( looking to sell that and replace with 4x drive as it takes forever to rip a bluray.

We can offer the BC-5500H but it will be £79.99 which I don't think is worth it for such little difference. A 2x drive will still play a movie completely fine.

yeah my 2x plays movies fine i just wanna be able to rip them to bluray iso's which takes twice as long as a 4x drive. You might aswell stock it, i'm sure you'll sell a few of them, more choice the better :)

I think the H at the end means that it has the newer firmware so ships with 4x ripping btw.

could ocuk please test the BD-ROM ripping speed of single and dual layer bluray films please as it says 2x on here but on auction sites someone has listed it as 4.8x for BD-ROM discs, i'll buy it if it is 4.8x. Also please post what firmware version this comes with. I can't find this drive on lite-on's site so can't get firmware updates.
