Anyone got teeth implants? If so how did you get it done and how much did it cost? Dentists dont seem to do it, you have to go to specilists.

Im mean how did you find people you trust enough to do something like that? And at what cost to your pocket. Im guessing you dont have any, but 10/10 for trying!

£2000 a tooth usually for the implant and the permanent crown like restoration over the top.
When paying that much, might as well have a specialist do it, they should be able to demonstrate 5yr sucess rates of 95% or above.

If you have an nhs dentist ask them to refer you. That is what I did when I changed dentist and she seriously messed up a routine filling and cracked my tooth (this was after I changed to a new NHS dentist). I was basically referred to a private dentist who took a look and quoted for the work to "save" the tooth (which basically meant pulling it out and replacing it).

Be prepared to be taken for a ride though, to replace a single tooth over a few appointments the total bill was going to be near on 2k, I still havent had this done yet but plan on doing so once me and the mrs move property.

I remember my Nan telling me that way back she was young dentists thought it was a good idea to pull all your teeth and have them replaced. With prices like that per tooth im thinking dentists knew what they were talking about back then.

I thought in the 50s they used to whip all your teeth out if there were a couple of bad ones and give you a whole new set?

Wouldnt that have costed about 15k ??

My mum said she went to school with a girl who said she was having her teeth our, mum presumed a few but she came back with a whole new set!

You're looking at about £2000/tooth, depending on where you are in the country, plus other factors like if you need a bone graft etc.
Success rates of implants are pretty high. Ask your dentist, no doubt they will have someone they have referred to in the past.

Whereabouts in the country are you?

Hikari K - I've seen a few of your posts, I assume you're also in the drill - fill - bill game?
