Nvidia 9800GT 512mb

My 9800GT is extremely hot, it's around 42 Degrees idle straight after a good clean.
Can I get a fan upgrade, or does anyone have any ideas why it is so hot?
I'm getting BSoD when playing Fallout: New Vegas at Med graphics and it says I should be able to play on high.

40~ is good at idle especially for a single slot card.

As for the BSOD the card is just faulty nothing temp related.

yep agreed 40c is good idle temp my 9800tgt I used to have was 50c and at load hit 85c

As for BSOD i think i know the problem as I used to have the same issue until I underclocked the memory to 900Mhz if that dont work then try 850Mhz. Should fix bluescreens

How do I go about underclocking a graphics card?
I haven't a clue when it comes to GPU's
