I leave and my precious off topic thread goes to the dogs! At least it's serving it's purpose. All the negative nancys look a bit silly now!

Hurfdurf with another stella posting decision
This thread is great, very amusing as well as informative (kinda) about other members. Keeping me entertained here on holiday :)

Just like to moan that I really hope my car is fixed by the time I'm back in the UK, been 11 months since the crash :(

So where you looking to go after Bentley? Does the brand hold good for other positions in the industry?

I understand that the name goes quite far in the industry. After all, it's Bentley :).

Not entirely sure on the plan. I know for a fact that they aren't to going to offer what I want come me qualifying in a few months and if I can earn more elsewhere I don't see the point in sticking around. The only reason I'm there at the moment is because I 'have to' seeing how I'm so close to my qualification but if I felt like this a year ago I'd have probably walked.

I don't know, maybe go to a dealer of a more mainstream brand, absolutely milk them for specialized courses and while on the side sort out a sizable lock up, get my trailer or LGV license, get a car transporter/ trailer, start taking work on the side a lot more seriously and over the course of a few years branch out into a full flowing business. Lots of hard work, long evenings and weekends ahead but I'd put the work in.

I think there's a market in specializing in older GTs as the 'old school' independents won't touch them so work pretty much has to be done at a main dealer with £150+Vat but people who have 'only' £35,000/£40,000 on a 2004 model don't really want to spend that much. After all, they probably got it because it seemed like a bargain, but something like that is way down the line and someone will have already done it by then. I want to build up on 'mainstream' cars because its much earlier to get the work in, and won't require as much expensive specialist equipment.

That is all providing I decide to stay on the tools after my time. Who knows, I might find something else that I really want to do. I'm not even 20 yet, there's plenty of time :).

Sidenote: After 3 litres of dirt cheap cider last night I haven't got a hangover! :)

It's the offtopic thread and the hilarity of any major event thread having, say, 500 posts of which 250 posts are you re-posting stuff from a news site deserved a mention :p
