Looking for a (reasonably) cheap & cheerful boost to my gaming rig. I'm currently using an AMD x2 5600+ and I don't think it cuts the mustard any more! Lots of more recent games run badly even with their settings turned down really low, and I'm fed up.

I also have 4 gig ram and an ATI 5700 graphics card. I think it's my CPU that's the issue but perhaps I'm wrong! I used to be really 'into' PC parts but it's been a while, so yell at me if my choices are bad. :D I've looked around and this feels like a good price/perf upgrade for me:

Not really going to get any cheaper than that.

Although there have been a few complaints about ASUS P67 boards, so a cheap MSI maybe better,

If your graphics card is a 5770, CF may be an idea, as they're just a little underpowered at 1900x, and the extra boost will help.

If it's a 5750 however, chuck it in the bin and get a 5850.

Just pulled the trigger on the sandybridge/MSI mobo combo. Come on tuesday! :o Love the free shipping from my forum account too. I'll have to come back and post the outcome soon!
