Look for the train provider on google and go direct to their own website...

Sometimes if you register with the train provider direct they will send email notifications of cheaper rates.

Or try raileasy.co.uk

Generally speaking the websites will all sell the same tickets at the same prices. The only exception to this are the TOCs websites who might sell further discounted tickets for their network only.

It's always worth using a TOCs website as generally they don't charge booking/transaction fees whereas the commercial websites such as Trainline and Raileasy do. I prefer using East Coast as their interface is particularly useful for finding very cheap fares but they do charge for postage. I usually end up booking with East Midlands Trains as postage is free on their website.

Just checked now and there's loads of trains availble at the lowest single fare of £11.50 on the two dates you mentioned.

For example: 08:40-13:17 on the 29th and 11:22-16:03 or the 12:22-17:05 on the 1st. As you've got to change three times it might be worth looking at split ticketing but as it's pretty cheap already you might not want to bother.
