Nearly everyone leaves a trace most of the time when on the internet.

Can someone tell me how anyone could catch you if you did the following.

Bought a 3g Dongle.
Did all your hacking from a car and mobile all the time.

How would anyone catch you like this?

lol...That or just park next to someones house and use their unsecured wifi

You'd get done rather quickly unfortunately, You can't just hide behind 1 IP that is hard to locate

Like how? As someone else mentioned if you buy it from a store without an account? Yes triangulation in extreme cases but what if you go through a VPN also.

Being mobile like that I would fail to see how even the FBI could catch you.

Because any site you tried to get info from there servers would have logs. So you would need to DDoS the server down first which a dongle wouldn't be able to do or control botnets which the dongle also wouldnt be able to do, so you'd have to go in without 'stealth' on and the VPN would get found easily without taking the anti-log steps, after they found your VPN your mobile device would be easy to track.

The only way it would work and it would be a run, would be if you were constantly on the move with VPN's pre-setup all over the place and you moved in a completely random way that couldn't be profiled

Dongle is quite sufficent to control a botnet from. No hacker is going to use a single VPN.

What a lot of people don't seem to realise tho - in this day and age the security services won't need to track people back IP by IP trying to pierce the likes of TOR, they will already have many/most of the bits of the puzzle thanks to facilities such as GCHQ and other tools. Tho if the group uses custom written software and proxy obfusication i.e. passing traffic through what appears to be regular HTTP (i.e. embedding SSL packets into the datastream in the place of jpeg images for instance) it makes them a bit harder to track down.

I take it you don't know how a botnet works :p

Your laptop using the dongle would only need to send the command to your botnet and your bots do the rest, so you could do it on a payasyougo mobile phone if you wanted.

Back in the day the old school botnet way was...

Connect up to your hidden IRC server, could even run it on your own machine and as soon as you put it online the bots would connect due to constant re connection attempt. Jump in channel !flood /!ping /!ddos $ip and say good night to that IP. Good times back when Microsoft had its own IRC server which was used with Microsoft comic chat.

yeah it's possible if you wanted to do a simple DDoS but you couldnt go through with the whole attack on a phone or a dongle. depending what the bots were linked to.

you know how terrorists always use satelite phones right? theres a reason for this and its because they dont want to be traced

mobile phone is traceable so is a dongle or anythin else using a transmitter towert thingy in your local area

Has anyone seen this picture from the Mirror's website reporting on Cleary's arrest...

http://www.mirror.co.uk/2011/06/21/...g-lulzsec-hacking-mastermind-115875-23216720/

A hand with a glove on, using a mouse, on a touch pad... wtf?! :D :D

Did anyone see this yesterday as well? - http://pastebin.com/q7Kaud5M

It's like they're having their own little civil war now. Surely all this exposing of details no matter how small, means any group carrying out a massive attack on something would result in some one getting nabbed, with other people leaking details of people. Unless it's all some kind of elaborate rouse...
