Before you say it I know the 800D isnt the best for air cooloing but bought it with an eye to water cool in about 6 months when my wallet recovers from my new build.

The question I have is this, im going to be putting a H70 on the back exaust fan and 3 fans in the top the way I was going to do it was the H70 bringing air in with the top front 2 fans as exaust fans an the top rear fan bringing air in would that work any suggestions for the best cooling solution would be great

it would probably be better to have the top fan that is closest to the H70 as an exhaust so the hot air from the H70 will be out of the case as quickly as possible, rather than being blown all around the case. for that matter, its probably best to have all the top fans as exhausts, and every other fan as an intake

Actually I have the front two as intakes and the rear as exhaust. I saw a post from Corsair's Redbeard on another forum recommending it.

Its worked well for me.

Yellowbeard* lol :p

+1 what reaper said, better to have 3 fans exhausting in the roof for that case, will help get the stagnant air out faster then just the 1 rear :)

i had 9 fans in my 800d and to be honest it was very very cool case.

it was actually cooler than my haf-x to really honest with you :)

3 fans in top extracting hot air out.

push pull on my h-50 (when i had it)

lian-li drive bay cooler bringing cool air in.

fan on the side of the hd cage (standard setting)

one on the shelf and one underneath it blowing cool air up.

worked well and do miss the 800d :(

They got different names on different forums. Redbeard hangs out on the main American hardware site.

Have experimented quite a bit with various arrangements of fans on top of the 800D and found two as exhaust worked best for me. Adding the third exhaust pulls some of the airflow from the bottom intake straight out that would otherwise be better drawn over the motherboard / GPU.
