Hi i just returned some faulty RAM and have installed the new ones but i have noticed my CPU has lost its overlock it was at 4.01 but now is at 2.79 how do i get the overclock back plz

Intel z 68 mobo

How can you have a Z68 motherboard with that CPU.

Either the board isn't as you say or the CPU isnt what you say.

Was this a pre-built system? as if its a OCUK system then there will be a saved BIOS profile stored in the BIOS.

What are you using to read this core speed?

Try CPU-Z, then while CPU-Z is running and open you should load the CPU with a task such as Prime-95 and see if the core speed reported jumps to the value you expect if the overclock works.

Intel CPU's have a feature called Speedstep that will slow the CPU down to save heat and watts while its doing not a lot.
