Falling...
Lots of banks are closing in town, and shops are being told by the police to close up early! Seems the police are being pro-active in their management for tonight, but it seems to imply they're expecting things to kick off again.

Also many stores including PC World in Totenham Court Road have just emptied a lot of their stock into trucks.

Also it's just started to kick off again in Peckham apparently....

No they have failed themselves, if they put as much effort into education and personal developement, as they do smashing the place up and looting. They would have a better life.

This isnt simply their fault, sure it mostly is, but there are several problems with them doing things by themselves, the education system is far to strict in its association of tests to knowledge and general intelligence, people become very disillusioned with the idea and the teachers nowadays simply dont help.

They seem to only teach from books rather than knowledge, i really miss the days when you sat down to someone who knew his stuff...rather than someone who has a book in front of them.

The hands of the police are tied in this situation. They know what they would like to do, but can't do it because they could get caught up in another 'enquiry' when someone claims they are not part of the riot get's tangled up with the police.

It's not a fact.

It's someone's opinion, and as has been shown bigots like yourself clearly have a colour blindness when it comes to white skin pigmentation!

THE BLACKS THE BLACKS! WON'T SOMEONE SHOOT THE BLACKS!!!

it IS a fact. most of the people looting are not white. what colour was the drug dealer who was shot and caused all of this?

London rioters: 'Showing the rich we do what we want'

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-14458424

god, they had no clue who the government or 'rich people' were. most people with local businesses barely make ends meet, unlike the retarded benefit hoarding wastes of skin being interviewed.

to be honest, with a confession like that, if i was the interviewer i'd have pinned them down and called the police to take them away

It probably won't happen to the same extent tonight but it will happen every few weeks now, as despite everyone moaning about racism, what this actually is is Black Gangs vs the 'Feds', along with a load of other wannabe gangsters.

It is nothing to do with poverty, tory cuts, or anything else.

Funny how black 'community' leaders blame it on 'police racism' and then in the next sentence say 'its not just blacks'.... well you excuse for it sort of implies that it is?

Unfortunately the non-law abiding are huge in number, and they vote too.

Anyway who else do you vote for. Do we think Labour would be any tougher on crime. We know they aren't.

The current police force is a Labour police force, decimated in numbers of "real police", less training, less power and Labour has allowed this culture of blame and PC rubbish to take over in the past decade leaving the police completely unable to do their job.

Likewise the police have been having this corruption issue which has led to senior people leaving their jobs, things that all happened under Labour in the past decade. ITs Labour that taught kids they should have things for free, not have to work, and scared our police force into being bystanders.

In fairness, they've done great, they are having bricks thrown at their heads, people throwing bottles and various other things at them and despite very small numbers in numerous locations have done a fantastic job. What they need is overwhelming force, and they haven't had that.

Cameron hasn't been fantastic, but he shouldn't need to, the PM shouldn't have to hold the police chief's hand and tell him to call up every reserve, everyone on leave, everyone everywhere and get them into work. Cameron appoints a police chief, who should have been doing that, if the chief isn't there(he resigned, did he leave yet, I have no idea whats going on there tbh), the next most senior police chief should have been making that call.

Everyones scared to do everything, if the police chief authorised armoured vehicles to be used to scare people off, and someone gets run over, the media, the public, will crucify him. These days everyone passes the buck upwards while everything around them is burning.

Its pathetic that Cameron should be sorting this out, the police should have got their **** together on their own, thats their damned job, they are just too scared to do it.

Used rubber bullets or similar (or other such measures) to prevent protestors getting through?

Through what? The rioters didn't break a police line because there wasn't one. There wasn't one because there was no point in having one because this wasn't a march on Parliament or the like. This is a mindless rabble intent on causing destruction, robbery and violence wherever they like. Rubber bullets wouldn't have stopped this anything more than a strip of police tape around a few lampposts.
