I had a look on the wiki and found these bits, but nothing about spiders posioning you..




- Zombies drop a new item instead of feathers, Rotten Flesh.

- New Enderman mob: die in water, drop diamonds.

- Totally new, fractal-based biome code includes 7 new biomes.

- Food no longer heals directly but indirectly. If above a certain point, heals about half a heart every 5 seconds.

Obviously subject to change. Hopefully the diamond drops do. Seems stupid.

One of the reasons I avoid the official forums because someone says something and suddenly 5 people down the line it turns into CONFIRMED FOR 1.8!
After 15mins of looking the only source I can find of it is:

Unless I've totally missed a better source, but how that went from a list of features to 'a few already in' to 'spiders deal poison DoT'....

It's just the usual problems with the minecraft auth servers, just have to keep trying or try again later.

Yeah I managed to login, but 503's on joining. Notch and co are all patting themselves on the back at PAX right now...

I hate to say it but I think I'm looking more forward to 1.8 than BF3...
