Banning the DD was a good move it's halved the following distance.

dRS is not a good compensation, gain huge advantage and keep that advantage until the breaking zone and at some tracks once all read covertaken get another go, to gain an even bigger lead. The whole prinicaple of it is flawed and they should just sort the problems out which they have actually managed to knuckle down on in the last couple of years.

I don't really get the hatred of DRS making passing "too easy". Back in the days when slipstreams actually used to mean something, you'd get cars drifting up behind and past each other all the time. Now it happens once (or possibly twice, in Italy's case) a lap, and everyone's up in arms about it.

All DRS has done is compensate for the inability of modern F1 cars to get close behind the one in front.
DRS was meant to get the cars side by side in the braking zone, not to allow a clean overtake on the straight to the point the leading car not even bothers to defend as the other can go around the outside comfortably.
DRS is fine but at Spa the overtakes were too easy and boring.

Hamilton might disagree with you there :)

re DRS i dont agree with the push to pass however i found it much more frustrating watching a faster car stuck following a midfield car for 90% of the race. Its certainly the lesser of two evils.
How many times was Trulli train banded about the last few years!

Aye, but even without DRS that wouldn't be such a problem this year because the DD ban, the return of KERS and the Pirelli tyres have vastly improved the racing. I'd love them to at least try one race with no DRS so we can see what it's like without it.

This year we've seen so many passes away from DRS zones that I'm pretty confident we wouldn't see the same stuck drivers for lap-after-lap unless, of course, those drivers just lack overtaking ability.

worst thing about DRS is when a driver uses it and the guy infront goes to cover the inside but the guy behind just drives past and says thats for getting out of my way.

why do over taking stats never count the first lap? they are still over taken even if its off the grid

schumcher over took like 5 people at the first corner , 1 person before eau rouge , 2 people after eau rouge

im sure a lot of other people over took cars on the first few corners aswell ive never understood why they never count first lap over takes even ones that arent on the actual grid...

Equally, they count overtakes in the pits. Its all a bit missleading.

I mean, Schumacher went from 24th to 5th, with 9 overtakes.... apparently...

They should count ALL on track overtakes for position, only.

Not really imo - because the driver in the pits doesnt actually do anything

Just as if a pitting car loses loads of places due to a team foul up - those on the track may gain a place (and nothing wrong with that per se) but to list it as an actual overtake is wrong too
