I’m looking at getting a used Dell UltraSharp 2709w. The seller claims it’s 8 months old, but never bothered to register the warranty. I presume the UltraSharp range comes with 3 years warranty? So how do I stand on this? I’ve asked the seller if they have the purchase receipt and/or relevant warranty forms, but has yet to reply.

I believe it's 2 years warranty

I thinks it's 3 years, from what I've researched.

Warranty: Anyone know? The seller hasn't got back to me, so I'm doubting they have the receipt or warranty documentation. Do monitors such as this have a unique ID number, that allows Dell to verify whether it's still in warranty?

The box the monitor came in should have a Service Tag on it.

You can enter the Service Tag here to find out the warranty status.

Edit

Or possibly not.

See here.

Technically the warranty belongs to the original purchaser and is usually non-transferable.
