SSD or 120Hz monitor?

Which one to upgrade too?

My existing monitor is a 22". the size is fine, would just prefer a higher refresh rate.

Regarding the SSD, surely a boost from a traditional mechanical drive?

SSD for great performance boost but personally, i don't think you can beat a decent sized screen. Particularly at 1920x1200 +

My opinion: the screen is your main point of interaction with a system, and fundamental to every task you will need to perform and experience you will have with your PC.

Hands down imo the monitor is what you should go for.

I would personally get the bigger screen I could live with slightly longer loading times, Or why not just get both??

Depends what your doing.

If you do a lot of FPS gaming then a 120Hz panel is a must and one of the best is the 22" Samsung 2233RZ.

If your into more casual gaming and or spend a lot of time doing desktop stuff then you'd be better off with a nice high res IPS panel - as mentioned above you spend a lot of time interacting via the monitor so spending money there makes sense.

If you spend a lot of time doing desktop stuff then an SSD can help make things smoother and speed up application/game load times a little.

SSDs arent worth the money imo. Neither of the ones I have have impressed me.

Monitor. 120hz full HD panel (or higher) would last a lot longer than a SSD.

Monitor would be my bet, I hate my current one, and I'd probably see a better jump by buying a new screen instead of an SSD

SSD for me, without a doubt. Faster load times in and out of games make a huge difference. Example windows boot up is silly fast and RO being the first in for my choice of wep or MMO zoning. Got to be a big SSD tho, 120GB fills up mighty fast.
