hey iv'e jsut bought a intel i3 processor and it comes with a heat sink on with what i think is already past on it looks like this:

and i found it on the intel website http://www.intel.com/support/processors/sb/CS-030329.htm do i need to put more on? or simply put the heatsink on top of the new processor?

1) No you don't need to put any more on. Just pop it in and go.
2) Yes there is a difference between third party paste and the stock one. Maybe as much as 10'C given the right chip and cooler if you go for the top end stuff. But unless you're into OCing then it really isn't worth it. Upgrading the paste on a stock cooler is pointless.
