I know we've had a mango beta thread but I felt we needed a new one.

As of an hour or so ago MS released the Mango update.

What's pleased me most is I upgraded to Mango RTM through unofficial methods and MS not only took this into account but made sure us enthusiasts got updated first. And without the need to roll back.

Good stuff!

"Force" updated mines today :D It's actually so so so so so so so much better!

Zune...smart DJ mix is actually so impressive it's unreal :) Start a track, select Smart DJ Mix and it will pick songs which relate to genre etc through Zunes vast library of music and stream it to the phone. Obviously you'll need to have Zune subscription for full length tracks which I do.

Love the fact Facebook Chat is included as a feature on the phone now and just everything is smoother and much better to use. Multi-tasking is fantastic and the new web browser...well it's just awesome!

If anyone wants to force it, connect to PC>Load Zune>Search for Update *While Zune Searches disconnect internet* wait a few seconds and it should magically find the update ;)

I'm sitting here thinking either go with a current WP7 phone now that Mango is out or wait until Nokia releases their offerings, now Nokia normally have great build quality but it always seems to be wait, wait, wait, I have the money just no great handsets to buy! Decisions decisions!

The thing is with Mango everything smooth as here on my "First Generation" Windows 7 Motzart so the current handsets are perfectly fine for Mango.

Someone posted this deal on 3 mobile which certainly appears to be a great one if you want to get a great handset for cheap on Windows 7! :)

http://threestore.three.co.uk/priceplans.aspx?phonecode=SAMOM7R3DS

Refurbished Samsung Ominia 7 so has AMOLED 4" Screen, good build quality and obviously will update to Mango.

£15 per month with phone free on a text plan with 500mb internet.

It's a refurb model which simply means it will have been ordered and sent back within the 14 days :) Will be as good as new and you still get a 12 month warranty.

Cracking deal if you want to get in on the Windows 7 action with a good handset

Very very tempting, and with £64 cashback :D (shall I, shall I??)

Do you think they'll still have the screen protectors on etc...? Never bought a refurb before?

I have been thinking the same, I sold my SGS2 yesterday to make way for the new WP7 handset :D

Well I was thinking, this is probably an excellent thread to compile all the new Mango handsets we know of at the moment. :)

There are some nice ones coming out (and some not so nice ones).

HTC - Officially announced a few weeks ago and likely to be released some time in October...

HTC Radar ~£350

The budget version of HTCs offerings, small(ish) and offering the usual HTC unibody construction. Available in silver and white.

HTC Titan ~£550

The giant "high" end device of the HTC WP family. Unibody construction and a 4.7" LCD.

Samsung - With a similar strategy to HTC, a large high end device and a smaller lower end device.

Omnia W ~£300

Essentially a slight redesign of the Omnia 7 is Samsungs budget design

Focus S ~£550??

Not yet officilly announced but has been jnown about for some time - this specific iteration may not make it to european shores however.

ZTE Tania ~£220??

A budget phone with a budget price and only 4GB of internal storage... Hopefully has removeable storage.

4.3" LCD
1Ghz processor

Nokia "Sea Ray"/800 ~£300??

Leaked renders have shown us a possible design of the phone but other than that there is not much to say about it however it is believed to be a mid range phone with the real high end phones coming after christmas. There may even be two phones mixed up...

4" LCD
1Ghz processor
8MP rear camera

There may also be a 3.7" phone with similar specs called the 703 however Nokia are being pretty tight lipped with all this and we will have to wait a few weeks for the Nokia official announcement.

There are also several other manufacturers that appear to be ready to announce phones soon, Acer (M310) and LG being two.

The new Sammy Omnia W looks nice, think I'm sold on the AMOLED screens since using a Nokia E7 recently, the colours and blacks look fantastic, now if Nokia did the E7 phone with WP7 in it (with upgraded specs), I'd buy it in a heart beat :D

lol, exactly how I'm feeling, and I've also read that as part of the deal to get Nokia onboard the WP7 train, Microsoft have allowed them greater freedom with the phones specs/designs, which sounds quite interesting, my head says wait on Nokia as I'm 99.99% sure I'll love their devices, but my heart is saying get a phone now and save waiting for 2 months at least, and also that this pink Motorola V3 is killing me (don't ask)!

Argh, Don't know if I want this phone.

My dad needs a new phone so could give my Samsung wave 2 to him.

Don't know if I will use 300 minutes in a month though.

I go through £7-10 credit a month on average.

Well Nokia are going down the Apple line with secrecy. It looks like they are going to do the whole "here's some new phones, they will be available to buy next week".

It also looks like Nokia is trying to get their own stands in stores and have their own areas much like Apple, which I like the idea of.

Overground, underground..
I'm unimpressed by 7.5 so far.
Custom ringtones are easy enough. mp3 or wma, <1MB, <39 seconds, change genre to 'ringtone', drag to the phone in Zune.
Haven't figured out how to do custom alert or alarm sounds though.
