Ah, my crash was because my GPUs were undervolted .... turns out they cant do 900 Mhz @ 950mV, but they can do 950 Mhz @ 1000 mV :(

I'll run them at 950 mV @ 850 Mhz. Dont need them set any higher.

Having severe issues with GTX460s. Tried SLI and just one and I just get artifacts. Works fine in other games/benchmarks. Advice? :(

Have you downloaded the latest nvidia beta drivers 285.79? They have added specific sli profiles, including one for Skyrim.

Glad to see you can turn off the compass and quest markers from the off by editing the prefs.ini.

So I decided to uninstall what I had installed (pre-loaded) earlier in favour of installing it from the disc when it decided to download the whole game again. What I found especially odd, though, is that my Skyrim folder in steamapps/common was only ~900MB, despite having downloaded about 5.5GB earlier. Weird. At least it only took 15 minutes to install from the DVD rather than the hour it would have taken to re-download it.

Now to go to bed and set my alarm for half eight.
