Does anyone know how to purchase apps even if they are incompatible? Some things seem worth buying for after the next time I upgrade my phone...

What has been incompatible? Most of the things I've tried have worked fine. Even simcity after a little bit.

Can't buy it from the market website and it doesn't show up in the market app.

Edit: My phone shows up as a Vodafone sgs2. I think that is why it's not working.

Both backstab & simcity are fine for me.

Checkrom 4, KL1 modem, 2.3.4 DK kernel & market 3.3.12.

Try updating your market maybe or a different version.

No worries. I'm convinced it's because my phone shows up as a Vodafone SGS2 and not a generic one.

I wonder if I can spoof it somehow.

Kreeee does it show as Vodafone SGS2 or Vodafone GT-I9100? The second is normal as far as I can tell, it just looks at the model and network your phone is on.

build.prop editing should fix the problem though I think, just gotta work out what needs changing.

Have a look at these parts

ro.product.model=GT-I9100
ro.product.brand=samsung
ro.product.name=GT-I9100
ro.product.device=GT-I9100
ro.product.board=GT-I9100
ro.build.product=GT-I9100

Taken those from my build.prop in areas where i could see the device.

I would check to see what mine says on the website but for some reason it won't show my phone on the account. Think its because I use my @sky.com account.
