Pug 306 D Turbo... Over 100k

Alright guys,

I'm still on the look out for a cheap run about.

I've been looking at diesel 106's and also 306 D Turbos.

You can get them for under £1000 with mileage 90k-150k...

But how long do they last if well looked after?

A mechanic friend of mine said if sergiced regularly then 200-250,000 miles is achievable.

Whats the going rate for a good condition 100,000 mile 306 D Turbo?

or am i better getting a 70k petrol one?

Depends which DTurbo you mean.

1.9TD? Very reliable and as Clarkey says.

2.0 HDi? Not so much..

1.9td xud 306 sold with 240k on it.
1.9td xud 405 sold with 251k on it.
Currently own a 406 xud 2.1td with around half a million on it.

Old mechanical french diesels will last for ever.

Injectors leaking on the seals.

Low pressure pump in the tank dies, high pressure pump on the engine dies, injectors get loud & tappy, sensors go wrong causing poor running.

When they're brand new, they're fine. They aren't brand new any more.

Some examples 30 miles away. Need to get a run around by Tuesday - have been messed around on a 106 1.5 Diesel. Was meant to picking up today but the seller has gone quiet on me :mad:

They're pretty damn reliable, especially considering they're french.
Mate of mine had one on 280k and it ran well.

If they're looked after they'll last.

Old French diesels run forever and on anything always remember seeing a xud running on its own engine oil

Not forgetting that it's from a trader, so it's got a warranty anyway.

Although aprt from wear and tear there isn't much to go wrong on these.
