I just watched the 15min E3 gamplay demo... my anticipation for this game has surpassed that of Half Life Episode 3... yes that's how impressed I am

Yesssssss....

That does look good!

Bioshock was immense.... one of the most absorbing games I've played.

Bioshock 2 is still one of few rare games that I haven't bothered finishing.

Really hope this really pulls it back and it is good as it looks .

RPS said:
Irrational Games have just announced a new play mode that will be appearing in BioShock Infinite. Called 1999 Mode, it’s aimed at appealing to those who think games have become too easy. Ken Levine explains, “We want to give our oldest and most committed fans an option to go back to our roots,” adding that 1999 Mode means that you’ll face more permanent consequences from their choices you make, and force you to stick with the specialisations you choose.

Levine continues,

“I’m an old school gamer. We wanted to make sure we were taking into account the play styles of gamers like me. So we went straight to the horse’s mouth by asking them, on our website, a series of questions about how they play our games. 94.6 percent of respondents indicated that upgrade choices enhanced their BioShock gameplay experience; however, 56.8 percent indicated that being required to make permanent decisions about their character would have made the game even better.”

The mode will also require tougher management of your health, weapons and powers, with an actual “Game Over” screen appearing if you die without the resources to bring yourself back to life.

Sounds awesome, I'll probably play it in 1999 mode from the get go :p

i will be buying this as i loved the first one , but to be honest the graphics look garbage.

I think BF3 has set the bar too high.

Hmmmmm game that looks like it may offer new and interesting mechanics, characters and a story with possible depth that has "OK" graphics or a game with "great" graphics that offers nothing that hasn't been seen a dozen times before, is so full of cliches you would think the box would leak and contains as much depth as a Fast and the Furious movie...

Oh decisions decisions.

The game looks like it is being played with an XBOX controller and that should say it all!

And what exactly is it saying?

That you can play it with an Xbox controller? It's a cross platform game, of course you can play it with an Xbox controller.

You could play Bioshock 1 with an Xbox controller, you can play BF3 on the PC with an Xbox controller, hell I can play Witcher 2 with an Xbox controller and that's a PC exclusive.

It means nothing.

Mate, they're a lot of PC titles that can be played with an Xbox controller.

The Batman games are the only ones I can play with a controller. All the other games I've tried it with, I usually end up going back to mouse+kb because I like having a degree of accuracy.

I don't give a frack if they CAN be played with an XBOX controller. If you play an FPS on a PC with anything other than a mouse/keyboard/joystick (for flying) then you should feel ashamed. Consoles are killing PC gaming!

On topic, this game brings nothing new. Vibrant colours, special powers, large enemies - hmmmm haven't we seen this before?

Lol!

Please tell me that wasn't a '2 weapon slot' system I saw?

Looks pretty impressive graphics wise but the shear mount of ridiculous flying between skybridges started to get a little far-fetched and then became downright retarded.
