How to combine multiple mp4 files into one?

Hi all.

I have a whole load of short mp4 videos that I'd like to combine into one single mp4 file for my wife's iPad (there are 62 so it would be a right pain having to select each one in sequence).

I'm using Win7 64bit. I've tried Avidemux and YAMB but the former wouldn't even start up (presumably not supported for 64bit Win?) and the latter just fails even combining two (I tried doing all at one and it failed straight away, then instead tried to do the first two and it tried but still failed)

Any suggestions or help would be much appreciated.

edit: that looks like something that isn't really "free". I had some apps ages ago but can't seem to find them now. This one might be better: http://mp4cam2avi.sourceforge.net/

(Site has all types of video joiners)

All video files need to be in the same format though. Otherwise you'll need something like Handbrake to convert them first.
