River Thames cable cars

How many gondolas are there? I was at the O2 on Monday and there was only one visible.

The towers look absolutely fantastic. Love the design.

First a big wheel, now cable cars. Are they slowly trying to turn London into a theme park?

I actually quite like it, it's interesting and (vaguely) useful.

No way, utterly inefficient and the same journey is one stop on the jubilee line I think.

It'd be North Greenwich > Jubilee > Canning Town > DLR > Royal Victoria, which doesn't sound like a lot of effort to interchange but during rush hour or major events at either the O2 or ExCeL causes chaos at Canning Town.

Shame it's not included in travel cards though, they already charge extra for the Clippers so I guess the precedent was set.

Looks quite good and 16m is really not a lot of money I think it will make the money back quite quickly if it does not cost too much to run.

As a piece of architecture and a tourist attraction it's great, it looks impressive and didn't cost that much to build, a chunk being paid for by Emirates.

Whether it provides a real transport in that area only time will tell.

I suppose it showcases a little more of the quirkiness and eccentricity of the English character. Can't say many other world capitols have ski lifts...
