Doesn't really matter though does it. It's a private company and what it does with its money is its own business (so long as you don't aggravate the share holders lol). And £1,000,000 isn't really all that much for a ~£250,000,000,000 company.

This exactly, this thread has similar complaints to folks who complained about the London 2012 logo, often ignoring the wider branding objectives involved - it's never just a logo.

I think this logo is uninspired and I don't hate them.

What don't you get is wavey logo no long suits the design mantra?

The 2012 logo was truly an absolute abortion though, they could have achieved the wider branding with a much less aesthetically offensive logo

In isolation maybe, but would look completely daft alongside Microsofts current and future designs which pretty much have quite literally no curvature within them whatsoever.
