How can anyone not like Christmas?? Even if you have little or no money it's a time to spend with your family, friends and be grateful for the things you have in life. Money is not everything. Anyone who disagrees with this has a lot to learn.
Family is a few rooms away every single day simply because it's the only family I have, two other people, I can see friends whenever, being grateful for the things you have in life is just a generic idiom which depends on the person and for some isn't much. I also understand lots of other peoples familys are huge/far away and they need a time like this to meet them. Don't make it out as if it's the same for everyone!
Christmas is a non event for me, there is actually no reason to decide to celebrate something as if it doesn't happen every day anyway. See your family more often, eat the food you want when you want and buy what you/others want when you can. All of these are generalisations of course. Can't even remember the last time I celebrated it, honestly. Stopped feeling sorry for myself the first time! The only thing that really makes sense is I stopped being a child and grew up and the novelty of it all wore off. Ugh, the idea people get all pretend happy and caring on the same holiday hundreds of millions others do is depressing, is it really that ******* hard to do it all year round, I thought I was miserable!
The idea that anyone who disagrees has a lot to learn is wrong.
Edit: But I understand for kids, imagine not giving them one and them knowing everyone else around them did, that'd mess them up.
