Quite like it, really, yet I'm not religious in the slightest.

Time off work, we give eachother stuff and make eachother smile, get drunk, eat loads and generally be happy. I guess that all comes with "time off work", though.

Great in my book!

How can anyone not like Christmas?? Even if you have little or no money it's a time to spend with your family, friends and be grateful for the things you have in life. Money is not everything. Anyone who disagrees with this has a lot to learn.

Family is a few rooms away every single day simply because it's the only family I have, two other people, I can see friends whenever, being grateful for the things you have in life is just a generic idiom which depends on the person and for some isn't much. I also understand lots of other peoples familys are huge/far away and they need a time like this to meet them. Don't make it out as if it's the same for everyone!

Christmas is a non event for me, there is actually no reason to decide to celebrate something as if it doesn't happen every day anyway. See your family more often, eat the food you want when you want and buy what you/others want when you can. All of these are generalisations of course. Can't even remember the last time I celebrated it, honestly. Stopped feeling sorry for myself the first time! The only thing that really makes sense is I stopped being a child and grew up and the novelty of it all wore off. Ugh, the idea people get all pretend happy and caring on the same holiday hundreds of millions others do is depressing, is it really that ******* hard to do it all year round, I thought I was miserable!

The idea that anyone who disagrees has a lot to learn is wrong.

Edit: But I understand for kids, imagine not giving them one and them knowing everyone else around them did, that'd mess them up.

i like the concept of christmas but not what christmas has become with all the overcommercialisation. Everywhere i go, christmas this christmas that christmas christmas christmas. Even here with the emoticons, it's forced upon us even all over my traditional retreat from the things i detest about the world, the internet

This saddens me. It hasn't started to grate on my nerves yet but i've yet to hear my first christmas song played in a shop. When i do, within 20 minutes it will have got on my nerves
I'm a little bit annoyed by the excuse to consume thing, people go overboard and waste a lot. Then the adverts force it on people by subliminally making out you are a bad parent who doesnt love your spouse/kids and everyone's christmas will be awful if you dont buy this utter piece of tat or this 4000 pack of carling or this completely unecessary pile of waste that will get used once then never again

clean up this christmas with a hotpoint washer? Oh, do s** off

If i'm happy i'm happy. I don't need some BS marketing hype telling me i'll be happy if i do this for another meaningless day or some intolerable jack*** celebrity like chris evans telling me in his chirpy little way to be happy

Time off work, check.
Great food, check.
Loads of drink, check.
Work parties, check.
Going out with mates on Xmas eve, check.
Presents, check.
.

This, how can you not like Christmas. It's like people won't to be different and hate it.
Do what you want, it's rare to have time off work, with most of your mates/family, nearly everyone is up for going out, meeting up and enjoying themselfs.

I think Christmas should be biennial then people would appreciate it more. : )

But really nowadays it's just an excercise in consumerism, think how many pointless discarded gifts there are at the end of it.

Christmas should only be celebrated by Christians and not treated like as a national holiday for everyone else. The Queen needs to bring some law out regarding this.

Actually proper Christians are not that bothered by Christmas. (Indeed, the "Modern" Christmas is pretty much a Victorian invention. As a religious festival it was not really considered of any particular importance before Dickens's day)

The really important Christian Festival is Easter!
