I'm wanting a tablet for reading and internet browsing when in bed.

The Kindle Fire HD seems like a good choice but their doesn't really seem to be much talk about?

Is the Kindle Fire HD the one to go for? I want to avoid a Nexus at all costs having to replace 2 on launch and getting a refund due to screen lifting issues!

Cheers

My mum got a got kindle fire hd, I think she was disappointed because she assumed it was an e ink reader when it . As far as the tablet goes, it's pretty good for the price. The screen is better than the N7 for one.

...But the bezell :(

However its not really about the hardware. [Unless its something very specific like the TV out the HD has]

If the person is a technophobe and likes books then its simples what-ya gonna buy. Loads of apps makes an Android trump the Kindle for the geek. If they insist on games (we aren't talking solitaire), then its the N7.

I played with a Kindle Fire HD yesterday and the browser was absolutely god awful.

Not sure if there are others available for it but it was so laggy and slow there is no way I could live with it.
