I recently purchased 2 of these i have installed my OS and programs etc onto one of them and this unit is working fine however i installed the second along side for extra storage. When i try to copy over a file i get Delayed write fail and the drive disappears from my computer until i restart.

I have tried a new sata cable and the problem still persists, any ideas its brand new! :(

This started happening on two separate WD external drives. Short time after they both died completely.

Get whatever you need off the drive and contact the retailer to get a replacement.
