It's a hobby. More than just shooting BBs at each other, there's a wide range of kit and equipment available and a big part of the hobby for me is maintaining, repairing and improving your gear.

Some people buy cars and spend large amounts of money upgrading them, customising them. Some people get involved in re-enactment and living history groups. There are tons of different hobbies people get involved in and Airsoft is no different. It's not for everyone and if it's not your cup of tea that's fine but don't belittle our hobby just because you don't see the appeal of "grown men playing with plastic guns" - that comment in itself is rather narrow-minded and a bit condescending.

Our local site involves men and women of a variety of different ages. Family bonding, friends spending time together having a laugh, some ex-military and it gives the kids something to do together. It gets them outdoors rather than sat in front of the XBOX playing COD or watching TV.

Don't knock it 'til you've tried It. I was sceptical at first but its good exercise, a great way to meet new people and a lot of fun if not a bit painful sometimes! Sure you get a few odd people but that’s no different than other social groups, going to the gym, nights out and work etc.
