Is this Bioshock Infinite or just the very original Bioshock?

How close would this perform to a stock 7970 do you guys think? And would it be a decent jump in fps over a MSI TF 6950? So tempted...

did they remove that D201 diode?

I was going to get windforce ones, but they are voltage locked and the twin frozr iii have this fan problem...
dunno what to do haha

5850 crossfire is about a 6970 , a 7970 is about twice as fast as a 6970

so 7950 is quite a bit faster.

Actually depends what games you are playing... I upgraded from crossfire 5850s to 7950 and saw a slight drop in FPS in some games...

NOTE: I am running 5760x1080 resolution though!

Biggest performance increase I saw comes with the Anti-Aliasing and tessalation improvements.

Had two of these cards first was DOA second had the fan problem after hitting 55c fan would kick in at 100%. This is due to a design fault.

To quote a post from flobelix (MSIHQ Red Rockets Team Member Global Moderator) on MSI's forum (link above):-

The diodes are a safety option to make sure the fan will speed up to 100% in case of overheating no matter any lower manual setting or driver crash. However some cards have been equipped with a bad diode that heats up due to an unwanted leak current. Because of that it speeds up the fan as it wrongly supposes the gpu to be overheating. The faulty diodes have been used in various batches so there is no way to find out what card is equipped with a faulty diode until the customer issues rma.

So apparently not a design fault but a batch of faulty diodes.

Yeah, it is faulty diode, not a design fault

actually the diode is a protection in case of overheating, if the card reach X temperature, it would make the fans go 100%, but it is doing with lower temperatures, around 65.

If you remove the diode, it will not make it goes to 100% in case of overheating.

How does the warranty work on these ? for the diode issue. If I have bought one from someone as a complete package and have the original invoice from them where they purchased all he kit from yourselves ?

Thanks
