Hi,

just started building my first PC, and i think i may have made a mistake already.

the above ram : CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9 (8gb 2x 4GB) I have ordered. I checked some reviews all seemed ok, so went to order. i've just checked the motherboard i've also ordered - Asus p8z77 -v lx. On asus's website this particular RAM isn't listed. However googl'in the issue, someone elsewhere has said these 'supported' RAM are only ones they have tested. others will work.

Is this the case? any help would be much appreciated.

Darren

Sorry edited ram is CMZ not CMP - CMP is on the supported list

Its great that you have checked the Supported memory list.
most boards have a list that is never updated - so if your rem in newer its never on the list

apart from that you should have no issues at all. your board should identify the ram and set it up correctly with no input from you - unless you feel the need to tweak the settings :)
