I'm either being retarded or have stayed up too late to be functioning properly again, but I cant find a sub-forum for peripherals so am gonna whack it here.

I want to try a mechanical keyboard again, I got a Corsair K60 which was pretty nice but I ended up sending back as I wasnt happy with it. I cant fully remember what I disagreed with but I know my GF complaining about the noise it made was one of the factors :p

Looking at the different types of Cherry switches I believe brown is the way to go - reportedly quieter than other switches and the 'notch' feedback it provides should help avoiding bottoming out hard.

Looking at the keyboards with brown keys they seem to be horribly ugly or out of stock. Choice is pretty limited.

I've also read about popping the keys off and fitting a small O-ring under them to soften the key hitting the board, anyone have any first hand experience with this? Did it help?

Input +/ suggestions welcomed :D

So where?
I came to the same decision with the 'game' look of keyboards.
I got hold of a Filco mech board with cherry brown switches. Its quiet and tactile
enough.
