currently running

Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor - Retail

was hoping for something with hyperthreading as I use a "lot" of VM's

Thanks for this - just stuck this in and updated the BIOS - I used to select AUTO overclocks and set max I think it was 4.8....I cant find those settings anymore - has it all gone manual ...? If so anny guides to get it back to 4800 or maybe 5000 ..have Antech waster cooler khuler 920 -ta

Just play with the VCore and multiplier to find out what you need to get 4.8GHz again.

If you got 4.8GHz with auto you might hit 5GHz with some manual OCing.

the difference between 4.5/4.6/4.7 and 5.0ghz is not noticable. you will be lucky to get a chip that can do 5ghz safely.

4.5 and 4.6 are realistic with voltage tweaking. just make sure your cpu cooler is up to it.
