Wow, that looks awful!

Couldn't imagine staying somewhere for a few days with only a sink to wash in?

There was a shower and toilet behind where the pic was taken!

Personally id rather have location over size. Much easier to stumble into when lost at 6am having to get up at 6.30am for a flight!

I didn't like the AA at all, the NH Amsterdam Centre across the road is much nicer and similar money

If I go again I will check it out, AA seemed ok though, rooms were nice and quiet and breakfast wa tasty enough.

Hostel!!! Safestay is dead cheap and easy to get to and from the main city in Amsterdam lol. It's at the doorstep for Vondelpark.

Do you mean StayOkay :D I stayed there for a week, and couldn't fault the place. Good location for everything, and the food was okay. I was in a large group though. I'm not sure if a hostel would be a different experience if you're travelling as a couple and have to bunk up with strangers

I've just booked the Ibis Amsterdam City Stopera. Seems to be a pretty good location, and I've had a decent enough experience of Ibis's in the past. Basic, but I will only be in the room for sleeping & washing.

Really can't be bothered beginning to look for a hotel in Paris now though!

We stayed at the Lloyd Hotel in Amsterdam, it's a little out of town. Best way is a tram (think we bought a 4 day pass for under €10). Although its slightly out of the way it's certainly an interesting place to spend a couple of nights.

Was your toilet bathroom in like two tinted glass boxes like ours.

No as I have a friend that works for easyjet/low cost holidays . If you book the small suite they always offer you an upgrade for 20euro a night and counter with 10 and they will take it . I think we ended up paying 400 euros for 4 nights in the bigger suite with bed and breakfast included .

Such a nice and quite area with museums behind it and 1 crazy expensive road of shops .

We first went there I think 3 years ago and we spent most our afternoons just sitting there watching it all go by with a bottle of wine .

Did you get to try the new chocolate bar they have there now with all the truffles and macaroons ?
