It normally waits until i go on holiday to make it as difficult as possible for me to buy anything. So it will be sometime between the 16th and 30th July.

I'm actually more interested in seeing what the other big games retailers (GMG etc) do for their sales, it's got to the point where the Steam sales are generally a bit anti-climactic.

It's good to see other retailers jump on the deep-discount time-limited bandwagon.

Savings = more money to spend on games.

Usually both. But newer games tend to get a smaller discount than older games.

With new games the "discount" tends to only bring them inline with the prices other places are selling for, or often a little bit higher.

For the old games (at least 1.5 years old), the prices can be £5 or so.

During the winter sale Steam was repeatedly outdone by the other digital distributors, even for games that can be activated on Steam.
