~10" tablet recommendations?

Hi, not very familiar with tablets but a family member's laptop is on the blink and need something to stand in until I can get to look at it in a couple of months time.

Looking for something around 10" with hdmi out. Confused about some not being compatible with BBC iPlayer, is this due to the type of cpu, graphics chip or codecs?

I'm guessing the Nexus 10 would be the ultimate choice but is a bit pricier than we really wanted as it's almost as much as a basic laptop.

What would be easiest also to keep up to date in terms of latest Android OS, would that be easier on the Nexus?

Get the Nexus 10 or if price is such a concern Nexus 7 2nd hand (see them going for £100-£110 at the moment)

Unfortunately, a 7" screen is too small as I want to read newspapers and reference books.

The Nook HD+ is worth a mention, I have one and it has a very nice 9" screen.

Quite like what I have read so far about the Nook HD+.

Should I be concerned that B&N have stated they will not do the manufacturing anymore (outsource? Does this make it a good deal at ~ £150 for the 16Gb model?

I think B&N are only starting outsourcing future hardware, So you should be fine..

Is it worth paying an extra £30 for the 32Gb model, as I already have a 64Gb MicroSD card?
