Nope - we've 257K thousand employees (and our highly pointless HR tool tells me I've been with the firm longer than 84.62% of them...)

I very much doubt I will ever meet our chief exec (NHS - 14,000 staff), but you never know. Only been in post since April, and only seen him in passing.

Thinking about my previous jobs only places where I did were:

First job, company of approximately 2000, first CEO whilst I was there never spoke to really but his replacement I spoke to a lot. Became a bit of an in joke that I was quite matey with him as I was probably one of the first people he really spoke to when he started. Had a few interests in common, he'd often pop up and say hello when sitting in the office restaurant and even signed my leaving card when I left :)

Second job, only what I'd call a small place, between 400 and 500 people, used to see and speak to her all the time in the office.

None of my subsequent jobs have I met the CEO but they have been bigger companies, current place is 400k+ employees over the globe with a US CEO, doubt I'll ever get to meet her.

I'm curious to see why has met and had a conversation with their CEO or other top boss and how many employees your company has.

So I have met the current Chief Constable twice and there are around ~7000 Officers and Staff.

Don't forget to say how big the company is ;)

In my previous job, most days (we still have lunch together occasionally)...about 20,000 employees.

In my current job, we don't have a CEO as such, but I see the people ultimately in charge quite regularly...current employees would be difficult to judge as it is a jointly run project by several international institutions, but within the specific joint project I work on, about 40 or so, depending on contractors and specialists.

I work at Northern General Hospital - We must have over 30,000 staff, though I'm not sure. I've met him 6/7 times in 5 years. The first time he met me I believe when I was getting a *******ing from my Manager. :p

Loads. We're on a first name basis (but always call him Chief when he's with others, respect and all that)

We have a few thousand employees, not sure of the exact number.

I meet the MD/group owner fairly frequently, but don't often speak to him. I work for an engineering company with about 500 or so employees in our group (US, UK, Netherlands) and about 250 on site. I sit 6 feet away from the UK MD and speak with him on a regular basis.

Most of my companies I've met someone around CEO level, last couple of companies on a daily basis. Current company just the regional manager who knew me by name before I was introduced to him, not sure if that was good or bad :p

100 london office another 100+- around uk and europe. The previous ceo i never met, I met the founder of the company but he would not remember as he was too drunk at the time. The new ceo had a 10 min conversation with myself and 3 others at an annual work meet up. But it was not much of a conversation.

I think the main factor with me never meeting top lot is that i work at client sites and only visit the main office for specific reasons. Also that I am quite low within the company. But the fact that i never visit the main office rules out running in to top employees around the office.

300 Employees Place: Loads.

100,000 Employees Place: Never met him, but you see him around the building (nearly walked into him the other week), see him in the coffee shop, in the queue at the cafeterias etc. In all the communications he always comes across as a man of the people :).
