So I'm trying to do some web design (CSS/HTML/JS) on my Mac, and have just ended up swearing at it. On my PC I'm perfectly happy using Notepad++ to edit and Filezilla to FTP, but on Mac I'm just not getting on with Dashcode.

What's a good Mac alternative to Notepad++? Some recommended me Coda, but it costs money and is more of an IDE than I need...

Another vote for Sublime Text, its super light weigth, extremely fast, and it just looks good. It doesn't offer indexing like some others I have used but search it quick enough to find methods and the memory you save for not having it is worth it.

Please take the time to watch this video it will change your world in terms of developing.

TextWrangler gets my vote for a free text editor but if I used my mac to do dev work, I'd definitely use Coda. From what I've seen, it looks pretty cool!
