Yeah sorry I should have made myself clear, I wasn't considering an APU nor was I comparing a GPU with the APU I was merely curious but thank you for you help. One more question though, what is this 7870 LE I've been hearing about what separates it from a normal 7870? :)

Take a 7950 GPU, cut it back slightly, add on the memory configuration of a 7870, and you've got a 7870 LE. It performs out of the box around the same as a non-boost 7950, so it's an extremely good buy at £155.

You'd get a good 10-20% or so extra performance from the LE over the 'real' 7870. If you can afford more, you have the benefit of the better memory specs in a 7950, and overall better performance, as well as more options (the LE isn't available from MSI, Gigabyte, Asus, etc).

It's hard to recommend a 7850 or 7870 at the moment with the 7870 LE at £155. If you were looking to spend £200 I'd say get the 7950 on offer (I've got nothing against nvidia, I just don't think they can offer anything better than AMD at comparable prices).

Ok well is it worth say instead of an i5 I went for and i3 or an Fx 6300 I'd have an extra £70 ish to spend on My GPU and got the 7950 or anything else I could get for £220? Or am I stupid to sack the 3570K? Is it true that the 3570K is on the i7 level? :)

The 3570k down to the 6300 is a noticable downgrade.

The 3570k will perform as well as the 3770k in games, as games don't fully ultise hyperthreading yet..

to be honest the 7870 LE with a slight overclock will be very very close to 7950 levels. Saving £60-£70. :)
