In case you have missed it, we celebrated the 10 year anniversary of our Athlon64 FX processor on the 23rd of this month. With an ultra-fast clock speed of 3.2GHz (the fastest of its time), it was our first 64-bit processor built on our AMD64 architecture for both desktop and laptop computers.

Do you still own a working Athlon64 FX based computer?

If yes we’d love to see it. Post a few pictures of it here by October 6, and we’ll place them in a photo album we are going to create on Facebook.com/AMDGaming, complete with your name (or alias) the following week.

I still have a socket 939 3800x2 @ 2500mhz in a dfi lanparty expert, still running just robbed the gpu for my son's new build. Moved to the dark side now sorry. Before it was an opteron 146 @ 2500mhz.
Bought the dual core for £50.00 brand new just after 939 socket got replaced.

I still have an Athlon 64 FX-55 CPU which is fully functional. Totally AWESOME CPU

Sadly the motherboard it was in (MSI K8N Diamond), was fried by static and so the CPU is not currently in a system. Have been thinking of reviving it for a while but haven't got round to it.

Ah this takes me back to my beloved Opteron 280. It was essentially an A64 with more cache. It was a decent overclocker and I'm pretty sure I had one of the first in the country. It took me several weeks to persuade a company to get one in stock for me to buy :D
