If the image is larger than 1280 pixels wide please resize, link only or put in spoiler tags. Thank you.

There is another just like it above the porch. It looks lighter brown than it really is thanks to the camera flash 4 inches away from it :)

Looking at them on Google images I'm not sure it is, plus the web they appear to spin looks nothing like what this one has spun. My spider which I've named 'Burt' has made a web which is a big mess, no pattern to it that I can see.

"Orange spider UK" in google brought up this:

Looks like it might be a garden spider, looks like the 2nd pic in that link.

lol MaxP779, that site produced an interesting tidbit

'Ones to avoid' section

The only species which has a bad reputation is the False Widow which occurs in association with human habitation in many parts of England and Wales, and has been implicated in having a bite bad enough to need medical attention. However, it is certainly not life-threatening and the few bad bites may be more a case of someone reacting badly, just as some people are allergic to wasp stings. It can be very abundant where it occurs, such as in Portsmouth, and yet we never hear of it causing problems.

No prizes for guessing where I live lol
