Hi guys,

I've bought a KDL42W653, which is superb, but for some reason they were stingy on ports and only put in 2 hdmi sockets

Anyway, I have Sky+ HD, an XBox and an Apple TV.

Whats my best option to connect all three up? Do I need a switching box? maybe utilise the component input?

Thanks :)

Component can be just as good as HDMI for picture. The only caveats are that the XBox component cable is a bit crap, and there may be some games(?) that will only work in full resolution via the HDMI connection because of anti-copy protection.

The sound will be stereo only, correct. But is that really going to matter if listening via the TV speakers? Or stereo speakers, come to that.

If sound is really important, then invest in a £300 Home Cinema system. The amp will have 4 HDMI inputs and much better audio quality than any TV speakers or sound bar.

Wait until you have the Xbox One and plug either the Sky or ATV into the new console and use the HDMI pass through. Very much depends if your keep the 360 though. I know it doesn't help for now though.
