Hi everyone,

At first I thought I had a virus.
But, pretty sure now its a duff SSD drive that causes my woes.

My PC started hanging after about 5 minutes of use.
I put an old SSD in with a previous install and have been making do with that temporarily.

Tried virus checking the original disk, and it seemed to get stuck at a certain point everytime.

Now I've tried connecting up the suspicious SSD and doing a disk check on it with fix bad sectors.

After about 10 minutes, the check disk job gets stuck at about 10% through. Then the check disk window just vanishes.

Think its a virus or faulty SSD that I could try to return?

Thanks.

Sounds like it has bad sectors, try a proper tool to check for them like HDTune or something :)

If it is bad sectors though, get it returned! You can try to repair them with certain payware but it is really unacceptable for a young SSD to have bad sectors.

I would RMA it straight away. As Neolink said, it's really unacceptable for a young drive to have bad sectors.

Have you tried testing the drive using the manufacturers utility?
