odd, when I ride, when the back set gets to half way and I need another gear or so , I put the front one into the big ring to avoid the stretching issue
ive always learnt never to go small to small or big to big, always keep it straight as much as possible

this is what I mean :

its not to do with stretch, more to do with chain wear in general, chain wears faster

centering the chain when you can is always best

It will wear faster I'm sure but I swear I've read somewhere that making a conscious effort to avoid cross chaining will only save you around 30 miles in terms of wear.

This bike has hardly been ridden at all. It was put together earlier this

frame : Trek speed concept 9 series , Size medium 52.9 seat tube .
gears : Dura ace electronic 10 speed 9070 di2
Rotor crank with full power meter
Garmin computer, cadence sensor .
Saddle : Bontrager team issue tt saddle.
Rear light : lezyne micro drive .
Wheels : Citec 8000 CX carbon rear disc , front 90mm deep
Tyres: tufo tubular , plus spare and tape and liquid sealant .

I have a brand new turbo roller Tacx to go with and a rear wheel with home trainer tyre fitted
