How much space should an 80GB PS3 have

Hi folks

Just got ps+ ready for next week and was going to download a game 13gb but it wont as only have 15gb free, apart from game saves i've deleted all demos, movies and playstation home (hence the 15gb).

I know the machine hold 10gb back for system use, but is the OS really 45gb or am i missing something.

i found that list in my google searches before i posted, but it doesn't tell me how much space i should have free with nothing but OS installed and some game save data (biggest one was circa 500kb) considering a format and setting up.

Did a format now got 64GB free, no idea what was taking up 49GB

Did you actually look in Game Data Utility and not just the list of games shown in the Games column? Anything installed from disc would be in there.

It probably wasn't taking up the full 49gb, afaik when you download a game off PSN you need enough space to hold the installer + the game size once installed, so it wasn't 15gb free you needed, it was the 15gb for the installer and then however big the game is once installed.
